First Snow Fall

Here is a preview of what winter is like in Canada. It's beautiful however, it does last up to 5 months, 4 if we are so fortunate. Therefore, my weekends from here on out involves myself curled up in a blanket, a coffee, that good hip hop provided by Nujabes - playing through my speakers and endless amounts of reading through blogs and day-dreaming about the clothes I would like to wear but cannot in this weather. I wouldn't trade that for much at the moment but I know when Christmas is over, I'll be looking for a plane ticket out of here. Note to myself to enjoy it while it lasts.

Beauty After the Storm

The area in which I live has recently been hit by tornadoes, hail and heavy storms. Apart from power failure, traffic jams and some damaged cars, everyone seems to be safe. I had to share this photo of the aftermath and how beautiful nature actually is.

There is always beauty after the storm. Whether it be the hardships you deal with on a physical (think health/fitness), emotional (think relationships) or mental (think motivation) level, mother nature proves that this is true and that whatever darkness you are dealing with will pass and what comes out of it will be beautiful.

Beach Bum

I am sorry and yes I have been apologizing a lot lately. My life has been in transition and I have been neglecting my blog. I have been preparing myself for a few job interviews here and there as well as spending time with family and friends. Hot summer days, BBQ's, bike rides without brakes and drunken nights dancing in unfamiliar places has kept me away from the internet. Tomorrow's camping trip doesn't help so much either but at least it temporarily fills my urge to travel again.

This photo was taken on my South East Asia adventure in Krabie, Thailand. Turquoise blue ocean surrounding the entire island and endless white sandy beaches is where I spent my last week in Asia. I got a good tan, $15 manicure & pedicure, a $10 bikini and ate lobster, crab, prawns and a fish in one sitting. It was paradise!

Home

Hi! I'm finally back from my vacation in Asia! Well, I have actually been home since April 3rd but I caught some sort of sickness on the flight home and have been trying to recover in bed since. I am finally feeling well again and have endless amounts of photos to organize and post! As I am doing that, I also have about 2000+ blog posts to catch up on and fall fashion week to check out. Oh the pain (in a good way)! Anyways, this song is old but it got me through many torturing nightly bus rides that I had to take from city to city. It's quite fitting for my vacation too (& summer!)!

Put Your Drinks Up

(via weheartit)

Seeing as today is the last day of 2011, it is almost required that we reflect on this year's events and how things have evolved. I usually love to make a list so here it is:

- finished my BBA degree - major: accounting
- finally developed healthy eating habits & exercise routines
- thoroughly expanded my knowledge & passion for fashion
- finally gotten over my state of "jadedness"
- hung up my partying shoes (night of Steve Aoki)
- realized the responsibilities I have to my family and the ways in which they are important
- got closer to some friends, made new ones, and left the bad ones
- stayed out of the drama bubble
- saw my long-time friend Vicky get married
- saw Skrillex, Rihanna, J Cole, and The Black Keys live
- tried out yoga and loved it

Year upon year, it has always been about the experiences for me. To learn, to grow, and to be grateful for it. I was feeling like I haven't accomplished a whole lot in 2012 because my weekends weren't all too eventful and I was falling to a routine at times. However, now that I'm reflecting on it, I realize that I have been working on my university career this year, instead of my social life. I also realize that there will always be room to develop and grow in both those areas and the experience is what really matters. That is the beauty in it all! So everyone put your drinks up, here's to 2012!

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art - write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the new year, you surprise yourself."

Degree Completed..

"Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next."

Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash

No one ever talks about that final "five" you can possibly gain when you're locked away during finals nor do we ever talk about the way we lose our minds (and hands) when writing those exams. While I still have 2 weeks before the massacre (killing those exams that is) begins, here are a few things that have been keeping me sane during university.

1. Starbucks Americanos (& making art of the cups)
2. 30 min long visits to the bookstore - street art/poem from Banksy's Wall & Piece book
3. Stacking bracelets & bracelet DIYs
4. Coach boots from Winners
5. La Macaroon
6. Painting my nails every week while I let tax theories soak into my mind

All you need is love

I finally decided to participate in this year's Halloween, only because I came up with a wonderful idea for a couples costume. Yoko Ono and John Lennon, and well, Frenchie and I were the perfect fit to be them! We also won $100 for the best costume!
