PFW13 - Favorites

Here are some trends I really enjoyed seeing on the streets of Paris Fashion Week 2013. The timeless leopard print, moto leather jackets, thigh high boots, grunge plaid - A$AP or Chanel prefall inspired, the staple toque, mirrored sunnies, mix and match fabric jackets, and that LV all over.

Ball Cap Babes

Girls, remember when you were young and you used to steal those baseball caps from the boys at school and how you would wear it and think you looked so tom-boy chic in it? The Militia

I have never been a fan of camouflage because when I was about 16 years old, a bunch of my older friends threw a huge party at a bar and the dress code was camouflage (puke). Since I had my in's with the people in the club scene, I attended but I definitely went against dress code and wore some tacky, revealing bar top in hopes that it would make me look 19. I know now how easy it is to spot a 16 year old girl at the bar because of what she's wearing and the terrible make-up she attempted to do. Doesn't fool anyone! Anyways, even though my style was a bit lost back then, I can still remember the horror of seeing camouflage everywhere that night. It really left a scar on me.

However, I was recently in the army surplus store looking for money belts and other things for my South-east Asia trip and saw the thousands of camouflage apparel they had. I saw this particular camo parka that had a bit of shearling on the hood lining and I couldn't get my mind off it since. I've been thinking of all the ways I could wear it and I found a ton of photos that has changed my mind on camouflage. Not that I would wear a lot of it but maybe just one parka is worth the room in my closet!

Under Velvet Covers

A velvet dress is my newest want (not like I have that many ha). The last time I wore that sort of material was at a Christmas assembly in grade 2 (I was 7 years old) where I dressed in an emerald green, long sleeve dress with a white peter-pan detail collar (similar to Alexa Chung's dress in photo 6). My hair was in a high bun on the top of my head with some synthetic mistletoe to accessorize. Looking back now, I'd say my style was pretty on point. Oh, how I wish I could have that dress to wear now - in my size of course.

Temporary Chanel

I've been considering a leather skirt for a while now but I haven't been able to find one in this damn city. This look is quite perfect. Proper school girl charm with the blouse buttoned all the way to the top, tucked into a pleated skirt. But then shes got those temporary Chanel tattoos wrapped around her thighs. I think they look hot because it puts a twist on that innocent look of hers and I'm all for that edge!



Those tattoos were first shown at the Chanel RTW S/S'10. I haven't really spotted many photos online of people actually wearing them but I think they're quite interesting. I would definitely wear them out at night if I'm going to the bar or something! Wearing them around the leg is a good idea but even wrapped around the wrist or upper part of your arm would be nice!

Bad as Hell Eyebrows

There is something so alluring about Asian models with dark eyebrows. Maybe I have been fixated on them because I just recently started to darken my own eyebrows on a day to day basis and it transforms my look from "innocent" to "badass" haha just kidding but I do feel quite badass when I get them darker! Take these models for example, from sweet looking like Hyoni Kang to sophisticated like Liu Wen, slap some defined eyebrows on all of them and they're as bad as hell!
